Access
Ine Town is located in the northeastern part of the Tango Peninsula in northern Kyoto Prefecture. It is a small port town surrounded by mountains and Ine Bay. Along the bay, traditional boathouses known as “Funaya” line the waterfront, and the townscape of Ine has been designated as an Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings.
It takes about two hours by car from Kyoto City, and approximately three hours by public transportation. Surrounded by both sea and mountains, the town has no convenience stores, and at night it becomes very dark and quiet, with the night sky filled with stars, giving the feeling of a peaceful hideaway.
